Probably the last time I’ll post anything for 2005, I’m pissed because I got woken up this morning and couldn’t get back to sleep even though I’m damn tired and want to. Stupid fuckers….

Anyhow, Christmas came and went, my grandparents came in from NY and we had Christmas dinner at my house. Completely lacking in Christmas decorations and most notably furniture though my parents bought some chairs over… Nothing spectacular to report and in terms of presents it would probably be better if I got nothing at all. Someone gave me earrings and my eyes aren’t even pierced. Well F that, I’m not gonna get them pierced, I got enough holes in my head already. Some laptop bag that is to small for my laptop, but a good excuse to buy a new lighter/smaller laptop? Though that’s insane and it’ll probably be a good idea to wait till Vista comes out for a new laptop. I’ll probably take the bag back to the store and see if I can get a credit or something, but knowing me I’ll probably never get to it. I mean I barely even want to take back things I myself bought, like this TV stand that is in the back of my car right now. It only supports like 60 pounds and my TV is closer to 90 pounds so that’s probably not good. I saw some $50 stand at BestBuy that would hold my TV, but they are sold out :(.

Anyhow next month I switch to working 11-10 on MTW and Saturday. So Sunday RF off. Not the greatest, but it’s better than my current schedule. I need to get tickets for the ski trip next month too…

So now what of 2005? I survived a full semester working full time and taking a full load of credits, I guess it’s not all that surprising, while I wasn’t working full time the semester before I was doing volunteer work that probably combined with work totaled to the same amount of working full time… My GPAs were identical for both semesters! Though the previous semester was a combination of As and Cs, this semester it was strictly all Bs.

The rest of my life is a mess though, made a lot of mistakes and did things that I’ve come to regret. But really not different from any other year I suppose. I’m amazed that I was simply so blind to things right in front of me because I let emotions control my actions.

I made more money than ever before, not that I make that much, but it finally exceeds both my parent’s combined income. Which is completely sad. And then of course I spent more money than ever before especially with 2 credit cards so I’m in the hole already.

I thought I could be more insightful but I’ve been up to long today and am fucking hungry…

I knew I would get cocky if I managed to pass all my classes, and even worst yet is that I did it with a 3.0 GPA for the semester. I guess it’s not to bad for doing full time school and full time work. Of course being the Asian chick I am, I have to associate with those that are boasting nearly some form of straight As for the semester. Though no jealously I wouldn’t have managed straight As even if I weren’t working, laws of diminishing returns ;).

So this means I get to keep my pitiful $500/semester scholarship from UD. My job nullifies any financial aid that I may have remotely qualified for, but there is just a certain satisfaction from earning something yourself so all is not lost. Unfortunately this means I need about $10K by the end of the year or like half of my salary after taxes :(. We know I haven’t saved that much. Well I need about $3K for school and that’s just tuition. I hate how they send a bill for before I even get my grades for the current semester and I didn’t even register for spring semester. In essence I’m paying $3k and change for classes that I may get to take. What a scam! Anyhow so $3k for UD, then $2k for my credit card bills, and $4k for opening an IRA. I know that adds up to only 9K, but the tuition part was and change and I’ll easily spend the rest on bills for the house plus furniture. I suppose I could take put a loan for UD, and I don’t need to open an IRA with the maximum $4k in there now. I think there is some way in the future to make up for previous years in which I didn’t put in the full amount…

I’m falling trap to those credit cards and amazon prime membership (free 2 day shipping on nearly all my orders and did I mention free!) I think amazon does account for a load of that debt, but I’m going to cut back from my daily shopping there (today was some mogu pillows that are so cushy and awesome and on sale and some adidas shirts that were on sale as well, the total damage was only about $75). Maybe I’ll take some of the funds from the IRA and purchase amazon stocks instead because they have got to have something that is keeping crazy people like me shopping there every single day.

This morning (yes omg morning, AM hours) I went shopping and somehow I forgot to buy veggies… I don’t even know how to cook them though :/. The ice cream I bought seems to mysteriously shrunk in size, but was the same price as it always has been. I also got my internet hooked up last night at my house and got my leather massage chair put together with some help from Shawn because I couldn’t find the instructions…So all I really need now is to buy my bed :).

So many freaking packages and I still have one order that hasn’t shipped. Then all my previous orders… Anyhow these are worst, most of the packages are 20+ pounds. Sorry UPS man :(. I’m not sure why the last one goes to Newark, but I’ve seen weirder things I guess. On some other shipment it totally said it was delivered to Newark, DE when it was definately in Wilmington….

Anyhow, the FedEx guy has one package. And it was suppose to be here TODAY! But now they changed it to 12/20, how lame! I want my George Foreman grill!

Also need to get super bad ass alarm clock so I’ll actually get up in the morning. I was late to work yet again :(, the thing is that I woke up like fully right at the time I was suppose to be at work (I had gotten up earlier then fell back asleep) and after some cursing I made my call to let them know I was on my way and I’m a totally sucky employee… Anyhow right after this my mom comes to “wake me” up saying aren’t you suppose to be at work? Like damn, you think mom? The thing I don’t get is if she knew I needed to be at work, why wake till after it’s already to late to wake me up? Why not get me up like 30 minutes before? Just WTF!!!
I can’t really say sh*t though, it’s my responsibility to get up and get to work on time… Though going in late makes me a little less annoyed when I’m there way after my shift is over which always seems to happen on Saturdays because my shift is offically over at 10, but because of random stuff I’m there closer to 11…

So the time has come to install the Ethernet cables in my house, I was hoping to avoid it with wireless, but come on, wireless just isn’t going to reach the performance of a wired connection. I’m going to use cat5e so that in the future the network can easily be upgraded to gigabit. I’ve determined the need for at minimal one jack in each of the rooms, so that comes to 6 connections at least. So the trouble comes in that my router only has 4 wired ports. However, I have an UNMANAGED switch that is 24 ports… So I can go with a 24 port switch, but I think it’s bit of an overkill in my house at this time. And I’m not sure exactly why I ended up buying a 24 port switch and an unmanaged switch at that. My other option is to use just one router, but split off the connection at the other end of the house using some type of “splitting device” which will probably be a wired router acting as a switch. (2 routers on the same network equal bad results!)

Actually I’m thinking the latter option is best, because I can literally daisy chain off the router with other networking devices. It’s all making sense now because I can run one cable to the other end of the house and run cables from whatever device to the 3 rooms instead of running 3 separate cables to that end of the house… Though I still do feel a bit limited by just the 4 ports… I’ll have to make some measurements and see what will work out….

Yes I am done with my finals, it’s dumb but the finals that I thought were going to be hardest I felt were actually easy while taking them while the ones that I figured were going to be a piece of cake kept me looking the test over and over again trying to remember all that stuff I learned what seemed like an eternity ago. I got a B+ so far in one of my classes, I wish they would post the rest of my grades so I can see what I got. UD has already sent me billing for next semester except I haven’t registered for any classes so it says make your own bill up and pay up by January 1st or something like that. I would pay up once I got my grades for this semester.

So now it’s no school for a little over a month. YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Someone needs to take my credit card away and cut it into little pieces because they increased my limit and I’m spending like mad. Like in the past month I’ve bought:
-new shoes, so comfy, wish I gotten a pair in the navy as well
- 27” TV (but this was a crappy cheap model under $200, looking to replace with a widescreen HDTV)
-z-2300 speakers that are fucking awesome, the sub on that thing is twice the size of the sub in my current 5.1 and the sub weights more than my entire 5.1 system! Sounds just aren’t the same with these.
-George Foreman grill, waiting for this now
-Hello Kitty toaster! Yes, HELLO KITTY! Though to get hello kitty’s face on their as advertised you have to make your toast really dark and I’m not into that. It’s an awesome toaster though, even has a cancel button, lol…
-DVD player even though I watch everything on one of my computers that has a DVD drive. But this was cheap enough and it plays virtually anything you stick into it.
-Cable modem, need this for cable internet at my house
-CD rack this turned out to be much smaller than I expected
-Silverware for 12, this was some cheap stuff from Kmart, I’m not exactly happy with these though, looking into may some Oneida or Mikasa or something just better than this crap, but it was cheap enough and they are OK I guess. The trouble with Oneida and those nice brands is most of their stuff runs quite expensively and not that I mind spending more, but their stuff is so damned heavy. I don’t want a 10 oz fork, I just need something that is strong enough to not break when I use it on food.
-Some cheap knife block thingy
-Some set of Oneida cups on sale of course
-A set of shot “glasses”, kinda neat little things where you can make your own shot glasses out of ice or whatever you may desire…
-and I don’t know what else, seriously sometimes boxes come in the mail and I have completely forgotten what it was I ordered…

And amazon.com is completely in my head, they offered me a trial of their prime shipping membership so I basically get free 2 day shipping on tons of stuff they sell, since then I have placed 2 or 3 orders every week! Then they have these recommendation things, don’t even get me started… I’m still not over the last time where they recommended me 2 large boxes of condoms and a tube of KY right next one another! I think I got recommended some baby diapers now, they are a little presumptuous don’t you think?
