Iphone blogging

September 15th, 2008

So I got my iPhone back from apple after I had to send off due to the external speaker being busted and the so called apple geniuses not being able to help me at the fancy shamcy apple store. This means the failure rate of apple devices has been 3/3, while I’ve gotten 2 of the 3 replace under warranty in a quick manner, it kinda sucks… So no more apple products for me.

Anyhow, got the iPhone back and it’s on their 2.0 firmware which means I can use the the “official app” store and download apps like this wordpress one. No more typing stuff into the notes thing then emailing it to myself to post! Though I only did that once because I was waiting in a doctor’s office.. I feel like the ballerina girl blogging backstage in the apple commerial now!!

GPS doodad..

August 18th, 2008

Finally got some use out of my GPS, though it should have been a track of what did Sunday and not last week…  I guess I still don’t know how to use the thing, it’s been sitting in my car trunk for months..

Here is a stock photo of the new kayak I got last week

At 12′, it’s one heavy yak.  Takes me 20-30 minutes to load it up on the car :(.

Babies don’t belong in movie theaters!!!

August 17th, 2008

Seriously wtf is wrong with people?

I go to the 9:20 PM showing of the tomb of the dragon emperor and halfway through the movie,  some baby is crying!  Why in the world would you bring your baby to the movies, especially that late at night?

Obligatory icky picture of “injury”

August 7th, 2008

I’m going to get a lawn boy… Got a blister while mowing the lawn that turned into this.

Now I’m getting new little bumps so I figured it was time to see the doctor. Not having insurance until the pass few years, I didn’t have a primary care physician or whatever people have as regular doctors.

Anyhow, find one via the web, sorta… I used the insurance company’s search and cross referranced with ratemd.com. Unfortunately I ended up seeing a different doctor than I wanted but from the same practice…

So $10 copay to see them and over an hour of waiting to see the doctor for like 10 minutes. They prescribed an antibiotic and steroid like I figured they would. And they make a referral to a dermatologist because she didn’t actually know what was wrong with me or I guess a cover my bases/ass type of thing. Basically a waste of time and money, even if only $10.

Well, luckily the dermatologist appointment was for an hour later (it’s about noon by the time I leave from the 10:30 AM appointment, the dermatologist appointment is at 1PM). I didn’t know where it was, so I figured I would go home and get some lunch along with the directions. I pass by Trabant on the way home since the doctor was on Main St, so I figured I could get lunch there and directions via my IPhone over the wifi. I would of had my GPS, but had to go go some place in Philly with my dad so I left it in my laptop bag….

The map feature of the Iphone is nice and can relatively triangulate where you are well. Only caveat for me is that I need a wifi connection (hence the stopping at Trabant) to download the maps since data doesn’t work on my T-Mobile service(among other things…). It takes some fiddling, but I get directions. So this takes me 31 minutes in the parking garage next to Trabant and they charge $1.20 for that 31 minutes!

I get to the dermatologist office and have to wait 40 minutes to see the doctor.

The dermatologist office is also for plastic surgery place, so their waiting room ads are funny.

For some reason the botox lady’s pictures are taken at “maximum frown”, I mean who goes around with that face? So I guess after botox, she can’t make frowny faces anymore? And then the hair ad to the right, I’m not even sure if the pictures are suppose to represent before and after shots, since they don’t even look like same dude’s head.

After the 40 minute wait, I see the doctor for 5 minutes if that. He comes to the conclusion I’m allergic to Neosporin and gives me some other stuff to use. At least he gave me some sample tubes so I didn’t need to get another prescription, but the visit cost me $20.

So this day breaks down to

Regular Doctor Visit $10
Specialist visit $20
Prescriptions $17.14
Total $47.14 and I still don’t know if my thumb has an actual infection or not!

OMG, you are an idiot!
